 Vortex Flow Meter Fluctuation Reason

Vortex flow meter often have problems with unstable display and large fluctuations. There are many reasons for these problems.

The reasons for the meter itself includes: incorrect parameter setting, poor contact of the sensor or converter connection line, damage to the electronic components of the amplifier, entanglement on the vortex generator, electromagnetic interference, etc.

The technical reasons are: the sensor or the gasket is installed differently, the process flow is unstable and fluctuating, the fluid is not filled in the pipeline, the pipeline is vibrated, the straight section of the pipeline does not meet the requirements, and the measured medium is two-phase flow or pulsating flow.

Other reasons:

I. Inconsistent or large differences in pipelines or calibers cause large fluctuations in measurement data.

Solution: 1. Install reducer size joints.
               2. Replace the appropriate installation pipe section.
               3. Reconstruct the pipe sections to match them.  
               4. adjust the flow meter 
               5. coefficient (can be used in the case of small size differences).

II. The pipe is accompanied by vibration, which causes deviations in the measurement data 

Solution: 1. Avoid installing the flow meter near the vibration source.
               2. Install anti-vibration damping devices.
               3. Modify the flow meter parameters (used when the vibration is relatively small)

III. Measurement data will be different due to changes in pressure, density and temperature of the medium. When the measured medium is mixed into the liquid or gas phase, the measurement data will fluctuate.

Solution: 1. Install drainage or venting devices to eliminate water or gas in the pipeline.
                2. Add heat tracing device.

IV.Signal interference causes large fluctuations in flow meter measurement data

Solution: 1. Keep away from interference sources (large motors, etc.).  
               2. Add shielding device.
