Metal Tube Rotameter
The detection element of the rotameter includes a vertical cone that gradually expands from bottom to top, and a float that moves up and down in the cone as the fluid flow changes.
 
When the fluid flows through the float, it will exert differential pressure, fluid dynamic pressure and friction on it.
 
When these forces are balanced with the downward gravity of the float, the float will be in a static state. As the fluid flow increases or decreases, the float will move up and down accordingly, 
 
causing the annular gap to shrink or increase. Therefore, different positions of the float in the cone represent different flow rates.
 
There are many ways to classify rotameter, and the two most common classification bases are:
 
1) According to the material of the cone of the rotor flowmeter, it can be divided into two categories: glass rotameter flowmeter and metal rotameter flowmeter.
 
2) According to the different functions of the rotameter flowmeter, they can be divided into field indication, pneumatic remote transmission, electric remote transmission and alarm types.
